french-thai, east village, funky, romantic, tad expensive, less private this french/thai bistro deserves a place in pepperblog. it is a cozy restaurant located on 1 and 1, and is not unusual to hear french from the tables next to you. the menu is rather ecelectic and has great mixed drinks. the 'wounded elephant' and 'keylime sunrise' kick ass. try out the moo-shu made of sliced moisty chargrilled chicken and veggies. its sort of the french/thai version of fajita but not sizzling! the dish is served in a metallic bowl with soy, and hot sauce.

take a stroll around the lower east side whilst at the elephant. for those new to the area, believe me it is liberating!
